The REDMAGIC 9S Pro was an impressive gaming phone with its powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, advanced cooling, and high-refresh-rate display. But like any device, it had its shortcomings. Here’s where it could’ve been better and what I’m hoping the REDMAGIC 10 Pro improves on:
What Could Be Better with the 9S Pro?
1. Cooling Under Pressure:
The cooling system did a good job for the most part, but during long, intense gaming sessions, the phone could get pretty hot. This sometimes led to performance dips, which could be frustrating in competitive games.
2. Battery Life:
While the battery was decent, it didn’t hold up well under heavy gaming or streaming. It often felt like you needed to keep the charger nearby.
3. Camera Quality:
The camera was just okay. It worked fine for quick snaps, but it didn’t really stand out. In low light or more demanding conditions, it struggled compared to other phones in its class.
4. Software Experience:
The user interface had some rough edges—occasional bugs and quirks that made it feel less polished than it could have been.
5. Design Versatility:
The aggressive, gamer-focused design looked cool but wasn’t for everyone. It might have been a bit much if you wanted a phone that also felt professional or more subtle in everyday use.
What I’m Hoping to See in the 10 Pro
1. Better Cooling for Longer Gaming:
The new ICE-X Liquid Metal Cooling System sounds promising. If it can keep the phone cool during extended gaming without any performance drops, that’ll be a huge win.
2. Stronger Battery Performance:
With the 7050mAh battery and 100W fast charging, I’m hoping for a phone that can handle a full day of gaming, streaming, and multitasking without needing to constantly charge.
3. Upgraded Camera:
A camera that can take sharper, more vibrant photos in all lighting conditions would make the phone more versatile—not just a gaming beast but also a great all-around device.
4. Smoother Software:
A cleaner, more polished interface would go a long way. It’d be great if the 10 Pro had fewer bugs and more intuitive features, especially for gamers.
5. A Balanced Design:
The gamer aesthetic is fun, but a more balanced design—or at least a few options—would make the phone appeal to a broader audience. Sleek and professional doesn’t have to mean boring.
If the REDMAGIC 10 Pro nails these improvements, it could be a game-changer. It’s exciting to see how this device evolves to meet both gaming and everyday needs.
