Phones have clearly gotten bigger over the years, but some manufacturers are starting to reverse the trend - most notable Apple with the iPhone 12 Mini, 13 Mini, and SE models, but more recently Asus with the Zenphone 7, 8, and 9. We’re also starting to see more phones land around the 6 inch screen size which seems to be a good happy medium.
I personally prefer small phones as I have smaller hands and like being able to use my phone one handed and hate having massive slabs in my pocket but unfortunately, I seem to be in the minority. Apple didn’t release a 14 Mini this year (on the contrary, they released a larger base model iPhone), and while the Zenphone 9 has been really well received, I haven’t seen it flying off the shelves or anything. Plus, it’s kinda hard to get here in the states.
Also, whether or not it’s true, most manufacturers claim that smaller phones mean they can’t incorporate “flagship” features into the device. I, and the Zenphone 9, both beg to differ.
And, there are rumors that Google is preparing a smaller Pixel flagship but they aren’t very solid yet.
Anyway, what about you guys? Do you prefer larger phones or small phones? Or does it really matter as long as you can hold it easily in your hand?
