Hey Heyuppers, today I’m bringing you the review of the Olight Baton Ultra flashlight. It’s a small flashlight in size but big on light, and the title of the review is a tribute to Star Wars since this flashlight is somewhat reminiscent of a lightsaber from the movie.

Design

The Olight Baton Ultra flashlight features a grooved aluminum body for enhanced grip. This aluminum is a patented alloy by Olight, offering greater durability against drops and scratches.

There’s a switch on the side and another on the back where it charges magnetically. Also on the side is a clip for attaching the flashlight to clothing, backpacks, etc.

An LED is mounted on the top of the flashlight, using a custom-designed EIP1 module that provides greater brightness than other Olight flashlights.

The battery can be removed by unscrewing the head.

Unscrewing the back reveals the USB-C port.

Buttons

The modes of the Olight Baton Ultra flashlight are a combination of presses of both power buttons, which I will summarize here:

- 1 press of the back button activates high mode

- 2 continuous presses of the back button activate turbo mode (maximum brightness)

- 1 press after these turns off the flashlight in both cases.

The side button has a green indicator light that shows the current mode and battery level.

- 1 press turns the flashlight on and off

- 1 press and hold activates moonlight mode

- 2 quick presses activate turbo mode (maximum brightness)

- 3 quick presses activate strobe mode. Brightness adjustment: With the flashlight on, press and hold the side button.

- Lock: With the flashlight off, press and hold the side button for 2 seconds. It unlocks by holding the side button for 1 second while locked.

Battery (Charging)

The flashlight can be charged in two ways: using the magnetic charging cable included in the box, which takes 4.5 hours to charge, or by unscrewing the back to reveal the USB-C port for charging with a smartphone charger, for example, which takes 3.5 hours.

Using Our Flashlight

Here I’m going to show you several photos and a video so you can see the power of the Olight Baton Ultra’s beam.

In these first images, you can see the street in darkness illuminated only by the streetlights.

In the next photo, you can see that pressing the button once already produces a powerful beam of light, which then widens to illuminate the surroundings.

And with two presses, it fully illuminates the area with great power at close range.

In the video, I show you the street in total darkness. Then I press the button once, and you can see the beam of light illuminating the street and staying focused. I press it again, and the beam widens, illuminating a larger area. I turn it off so you can see the difference and repeat the same pressing pattern. Then I show you the beam as it comes out of the flashlight, and finally, I press the button in strobe mode.

I’ve also included some photos taken at home, in the kitchen with the lights off, pressing the back button once and twice so you can see the difference in illumination.

Conclusion

I was quite surprised by the power of this flashlight in such a compact design. It takes up little space in your hand, you can carry it anywhere fully charged, it has a magnetic base so you can attach it to any metal surface without having to hold the flashlight, and it’s easy to use with its two switches.
